Belgium’s FSMA Flags 21 New Fraudulent Trading Platforms

The financial watchdog said the platforms were trying to pique consumers’ curiosity by placing deceptive advertisements on social media or online video platforms. In these false advertisements, a (well-known) person often explains how to get rich quick. Additionally, some fraudulent marketplaces offer consumers so-called “affiliate programs” that show signs of pyramid schemes.

FSMA strongly advises investors to proceed with investment activities with caution, check the identity of the company and verify that the company in question has the necessary authorizations before making any payments to avoid fraud.
