MyAmdi Asset Management is a Scam

MyAmdi Asset Management is one of the fraudulent brokers using Investment Package schemes to scam people, and it started doing so about a year ago. Even the logo is copied from another  company, which makes MyAmdi suspected to be a clone.

Victims’ Story

A victim told us that she met the scammer on social media. At first, she didn’t have much investment experience but was interested in investing, so she wanted to learn a little bit of basic investment knowledge and searched the internet for relevant information. She was soon drawn to an investment ad and contacted the advertised company via WhatsApp.

One of the scam artists told her that it was easy to invest with this company and that an operator would trade on behalf of the client once the principal was deposited. So after investing, the client would just have to wait for the notification of receiving profit. Obviously, it was an Investment Package scam.

However, as a novice trader, the victim did not know about this kind of scam and was lured to invest RM600.

After some time, the scammer told the victim that her account had made a profit of RM37,440 after trading by the operator. And now she can get RM10,350 returns! Only if the victim pays a fee for the “activation system key” first, which was RM1,850.

Confronted with the situation, the victim suddenly realized that she had been scammed and refused to pay the fee.

Unlicensed Broker who Used a Copycat Logo

MyAmdi Asset Management claims to provide financial services to its clients under the supervision of three regulatory bodies: the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), the Financial Services Authority of Seychelles (Seychelles FSA), and the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). However, this broker is not regulated by any of these regulators.

Moreover, the logo used by the fraudster is highly similar to another company called Amundi Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., which makes the scammer also suspected to be a clone.
